Andy (Medellín, Colombia, 1982) studied graphic design with semesters on illustration, direction of short films and staging. Highlights during his study were a short film Idiota TV  and a mural at his university. In 2007 he started as a figurative painter. In the beginning mostly working from his imagination and later on he got inspired a lot by old family pictures and working with live models, people are the most inspiring subject for him.

During the years, he followed different courses by painters who inspire him. In New York he studied portaiture, where he started to work with oil paint, painting life models. In London he did a course on book illustration and recently he followed a course in Spain by one of his favourite painters.

Until now, Andy has made more than eight exhibitions such as Mujeres y la muerte (2010), Atento, América (2012), Necias Naciones, FamiliaFotoFantasma (2014) A lo que hemos llegado, Estamos unidos (2017), Retrospectiva pirata (2018) and Los colores escondidos (2019).

Lives and works in Amsterdam.
